this time around? mark martin takes a look. the republican presidential candidates willspend new year's weekend trying to gain more supporters and win over iowa, the first stateto vote. christian evangelical voters have several choices, including minnesota rep.michele bachmann. our campaign organization is very strong. a recent poll showed former sen. rick santorumsurging near the top of the pack of gop hopefuls, running third behind mitt romney and ron pauland ahead of former house speaker newt gingrich and texas gov. rick perry. how does it feel to be no. 3?

just working our way up the ladder! santorum says a vote for him sends a distinctmessage. there is a very stark contrast with gov. romneyand me on the issue of health care, and the issue of cap and trade and global warmingand moral and culture issues, and ron paul on national security. meanwhile, romney is all smiles, as he continuesto remain the frontrunner, and a split evangelical vote could push him to victory in iowa. romney'strying to close the deal in iowa by arguing he's the best candidate to defeat presidentobama. santorum countered by saying the 2012 presidential election is too important tosettle for just winning.

this is an election where i believe the futureof america hangs in the balance of what kind of country we are going to be. are we goingto be a country that believes in our founders' vision of free markets, free people, limitedgovernment, strong family, strong communities, an america being built as a great countryfrom the bottom up? or do we believe now that we have reached a point where that is no longerpossible? santorum asked. mark martin, cbn news. americans can help themselves at tax timeby giving to charitable organizations. efrem graham has a look at a few ways to insureyour year-end donations count. the sights and sounds of the season inspirepeople to give to help those in need.

it’s just a pleasure to be able to give. so if i can give to someone to help someone, that makes me feel better inside. beyond feeling better, giving can lightenyour tax burden. the basics of charitable giving are rememberthat if you don't itemize, if you don't file a long form, you can't deduct. when itemizing those deductions, financialplanner robin tull says there's one key thing to remember now and at filing time. you have got to substantiate the charity.what does that mean? it means make sure it is a qualified irs charity. you can look atguidestar.org is a place to look up. better

business bureau. charity navigator is anotherone. just make sure it is a 501(c)3, so you can actually get that deduction. tull says you must also substantiate yourgift with receipts, checks or other proof. generally, charitable deductions are limitedto 50 percent of your adjusted gross income or agi. that rule applies to all income levels. in 2009, a lot of people, high income earners, they would make a gift, a charitable donation to their favorite charity, but their deductionwas phased out, because they made too much money. in 2011 and 2012, it doesn't matterhow much you make or how much you give, you can deduct the full amount.

property donated to a charity is also taxdeductible. just be able to prove it’s worth what you say it is. the irs says they have to be in workable order, whatever you are giving, so you can't just give that old tv, or that old suit you hadin the 70s or something like that. you have to substantiate the value of the gift, what'sa reasonable value. a written receipt is needed for property valuedat $250 or more. a value of more than $500 also requires a written description of theitem. more than $5,000 requires an independent appraisal. with only days until the new year, financial advisors tell us some people are securing deductions for this year using acredit card. it gives them a deduction for

their 2011 return, even though they won'tactually pay the bill until 2012. remember that the irs is not forgiving. ifyou forgot, december 31 it’s too late. you have to have your gift, if you do it by thepostal service, it has to be post marked by december 31. still, while there is a deadline to claimthe tax deduction, it's never too late to give to those in need. i can't even describe how grateful i am. efrem graham, cbn news. archaeologists digging near the western wallin jerusalem have unearthed a rare find. the

discovery shed some light on the daily workof the ancient jewish temple. julie stahl has that story now from jerusalem. the small clay seal is inscribed with twowords in aramaic meaning "pure to god." this is the first time we got something thatbelongs to god, belongs to something that came from the temple. archaeologists say the seal is the first archaeologicalevidence of the administrative workings of the second temple. that temple was built around500 bc after solomon's temple had been destroyed. archaeologists believe the seal was probablyused by temple officials like a stamp indicating that an object, like oil or an animal forsacrifice, was approved for ritual use in

the temple. it was dated between the firstcentury bc and 70 ad when the romans destroyed the second temple. it's very, very exciting to find somethingthat priests used in the temple before 2,000 years, something that belong to the temple, and this is the first time we found a thing like that, ever. this is the western wall. archaeologists havebeen digging to its foundations recently, and that's where they found this latest treasure.layers of soil covered these giant foundation stones of the outer wall of the temple mount.during the time of the second temple, the main street of jerusalem would have been aboveit, including the years when jesus walked

the city. eli shukron: the dirt that covered this townfrom here, we took it to the sifting, and then we sifted, and we found the seal fromthe area, from this area that we stand here. israel antiquities authority archaeologistseli shukron said all the dirt and debris from this area is sifted meticulously for artifacts.archaeologists are not allowed to excavate on the temple mount itself because of politicaland religious sensitivities. it currently houses the muslim mosques and shrines. notlong ago, archaeologists found coins in a ritual bath under the western wall that indicatedking herod, the great builder of jerusalem, didn't finish the western wall himself beforehe died. julie stahl, cbn news, jerusalem.

musician john lee hooker. john lee, jr., isa two-time grammy nominee and has shared the red carpet with the world’s best musicians.and he’s played alongside the likes of bb king, lenny kravitz and bo diddley. john lee,jr., started playing at a young age. even then, people predicted that he would becomeanother hooker legend, just like his father. my dad came out with a hit, “boom, boom, boom.” and my peers’ moms and dads knew what a hit record was and explained it. “wow, your dad got a hit record,” and that‘s what was playing. but john lee, jr., had a secret: he was addictedto drugs. he started using marijuana in middle school, and the drugs got progressively stronger.in his early years in high school, he started

shooting heroin. i woke up thinking about drugs. i went tosleep thinking about drugs. at lunch periods in school, after school was over, i thoughtabout drugs. “drugs” was the thing. john was constantly in and out of county jailon drug-related crimes. during one stay, his cellmate wanted to teach john how to defendhimself if he ever had to go to the penitentiary. so they started boxing. he would stand right in the cell door andsay, “now, get out of here if you can.” and i’d box my way out. and after i’dbox my way out, he’d say, “good work. i’m just getting you ready.”

and just as his cellmate predicted, when johnlee, jr., turned 18, he was moved to adult prison. you’re a kid, and you’ve got guys in therewho are 30 and 40, and “who is this little, young boy that’s coming in here?” andyou’re like, “oh, my god. what have i gotten myself into?” john quickly learned about the dark side ofprison life after his friend was raped by a cellmate. and, of course, as a youngster, you say toyourself, “dang, that could happen to me as well.”

the day that same inmate tried to rape johnlee, jr., john had to rely on every boxing lesson his former cellmate had ever taughthim. and i grabbed him and threw him up againstthe bars, and threw him and punched him, and i beat him up. you’re not going to get me like you gotmy friend! when john lee got out of prison, he went rightback to using drugs, and his music career ended. he was homeless, living on the streets, and overdosed so many times, he lost count. i have had uncles, parents tell me, “you’regoing to die from drugs. we already know you will die from drugs.” i believed them. ibelieved them. and i said, “i know.” but

i didn’t care. by the time john lee, jr., reached his 40s,he was shooting heroin into his neck, because the veins in his arms had collapsed. he developeda severe infection. and when he went to the hospital, he faced up to the possibility hecould die. the doctor looked at my neck and said, “weneed to get that infection out, or you will die.” instantly i broke out crying. andhe says, “you can die any minute.” and laying on my hospital bed, i just basicallysaid, “lord jesus, i need you to walk me through with this ordeal.” i said, “pleasehelp me. have mercy on me. help me.” and he helped me. he helped me.

at that moment, john lee prayed to becomea christian. but when he recovered from the surgery, he still faced more drug-relatedcharges. his mother came to the sentencing to pray for her son. and as i was standing there, and they werereading off the charges, i knew, i knew, just like i know that this handkerchief is white,“they are going to send me to prison.” and i saw my mom out in the audience withher head bowed, and she was praying. and the judge said, “you’re worth salvaging, andi’m not going to send you to jail.” and in my heart i know that the lord jesus christheard my mama’s prayers in my behalf. the judge sent john lee to a drug rehab programwhich he successfully completed. he re-launched

his music career with three new albums, receivedtwo grammy nominations, and walked the red carpet drug-free. and everyone who knows himwill tell you that something remarkable has happened in his life. jesus is my good friend. he’s a star thatshines in the darkness when i don’t know which way to go. when i’m lonely, i canspeak with him. he’s my hope and he’s my joy. and he has caused my name that peopledidn’t trust. now i have a good name, and not because of celebrity, but because of whathe has done for me. he'll do the same for you. what he's donefor others, he loves to save people. just get that in your head. jesus came to savesinners. that includes me. that includes you,

and you can't ever outrun his love. you can’tgo too far. maybe you're not like johnny lee, and you're not shooting up into your neck, but maybe you've hit another bottom, and you're wondering, “is there any hope for me? cani do anything with my life? can i ever possibly have a good name?” well, i've got good newsfor you. yes, you can. jesus loves to turn people around. he loves to receive prodigalsback home. he's watching for them. he's watching especially for them, and he’ll even leavethe 99 to go find that one. that one who's lost who has no help, who can't find a wayhome. he'll even go and say, “this is the way; just follow me.” now, if this is foryou. if you want to be free from whatever's holding you, whatever's keeping you from yourdreams, then start understanding that all

the things that god tells us to do, it’sfor our benefit. he's looking out for us. he's got dreams for each one of us. he hasplans. he has purposes. he's created good things for us to do, and he's done that evenbefore he made the earth, and he still has a dream for you if you just let him. all youhave to do is say, “jesus. if you're there if you can hear me,” and i promise you hecan, “can you save me? can you turn me around? can you make me new again? can you forgiveme? can you set me on the right course?” and the answer to all those questions is,“yes, yes, and yes.” he's always there, and he's the god of the second chance, anda third chance, and the fourth chance. as many chances as you need, he wants to giveit to you. now, if this is for you. if this

is what you want, just bow your head. praya very simple prayer, just like johnny lee. cry out, “jesus, can you help me? i needyou now. i need a savior now.” pray with me, “jesus.” that's right, say out loud.“jesus, i come to you, and i need you. i need you in my life. i need you in my heart.i need to be made new again. so, jesus, right now i ask that you forgive me. that you restoreme. that you cleanse me. and jesus, i want to follow you. from this day forward i wantto follow you. hear my prayer for i pray it in jesus’ name.” “father, for thosewho just prayed, i pray of baptism in your love. i ask that your love would just surroundthem and fill them, and be all over them now. let them know their prayer has been heardand has been answered now, for i ask it in

jesus’ name. amen.” if you prayed with me, the bible says thatif you believe in your heart and then confess with your mouth, you shall be saved. but iwant you to do is make a toll-free call and do just that: 1-800-759-0700. and just sayto the person who answers the phone—they're there to pray with you—just say i want tomake jesus lord of my life. i want to confess that that he's the savior. he's the one forme. when you call, we've got a free packet for you. it's called, “a new day.” inhere is a cd teaching, how to live the christian life. there's also a booklet with bible verses.we encourage you to get a copy of the bible. start reading it every day. you can startwith the gospel of john. we also encourage

and turned her into someone she didn't evenrecognize. i always had bruises on my cheeks, on my arms.i felt at the time it was wrong, like how could he do that to me? why would he hurtme? why would he make me cry? but i just let it happen. i thought that my love would changehim. tomasa gugliemi fell in love young, and shefell hard. she was just 14 years old when she met her high school sweetheart. it was my first boyfriend. my first love.he was just giving me love, giving me attention, and that's something that that i yearned for. by the time tomasa was 16, she and her boyfriendwere sexually active. but that wasn't tomasa’s

only secret, she also hid her boyfriend’sanger. he started being really, really controlling, and “you’re the only girl for me, and if i can’t have you nobody else can haveyou. i thought i loved him and thought that this is just a phase. he’ll stop doing whathe’s doing what’s he’s doing. but she couldn’t change him, and the abusedidn’t stop. we broke up. my mom told him you’re notallowed to come over here. he was upset and one day he just came to my house in his car,and he came knocking at the door. when she came outside, he kidnapped her. he just grabbed me and threw me in the car,and he took off crazy; and i just remember

screaming and crying and trying to get outof the car. he held my body in and held me by the hair and said, “you’re going todie tonight, and if i can’t have you, nobody can have you. she managed to jump from the car and run home.he was arrested and sent to jail. i was glad to be done with it. but when he got out of prison and contactedher, tomasa got sucked back into the relationship. i thought maybe he had changed, and everythingwas all good in the beginning. he wasn’t being abusive, and we were having fun, andhe was being perfect. they married when tomasa was 21; but justone year later, the abuse started again.

i just had to do whatever he said. now itwas kind of worse, because i was his wife, so now i really belonged to him. he wantedme to look like a barbie doll. i had to have breast augmentation, and i was having plasticsurgeries. he wanted me to be what he wanted, not what i wanted. even with all the changes, her husband stillwasn’t satisfied. he had a new request. he wanted her to strip. i’m thinking, “what?” i had never evenbeen to a strip club. i was hurt because i thought that if you love somebody, why wouldyou want someone else to see their body. i was always wanting to please him.

so she started stripping. i was just afraid of him, and i kept tellinghim i didn’t want to do it, and i was embarrassed, and i don’t want to show my body. i wasreally scared and nervous. she also began drinking. i hated doing what i was doing, and the alcoholmade me not care, not think about what i was doing. and at home the abuse only got worse. finallyshe had had enough. i got so freaked out that i was like, “ohmy god, what if he accidentally kills me?” i just said i gotta get out. i gotta get outof here.

tomasa left her husband, and two years latertheir divorce was final. i just felt like i got married, and i thoughtthat marriage was so sacred. tomasa managed to hold down a regular jobfor a while and did some modeling on the side but eventually went back to stripping foreasy money. society was telling me that you’re beautiful.sex sells. use your body. use your face. use what you’ve got. tomasa hated who she’d become. i said i’m tired of this life, and i’mtired of dancing. i hate my life. and i just cried out to god, and i said, “just pleaseget me out of this situation.”

a few days later, tomasa met a young actornamed noel at a modeling event in vegas. the two started a long distance relationship.after a few weeks of talking, noel called her up and made a confession. he said i’ve always had a struggle withgod. i really want to get my life together. i want to be happy. i want to serve god, buti know it’s hard.” he said, “i don’t know if i can do it by myself.” and he said,“i’m going to a seminar. it’s a christian seminar. do you think that maybe you’d wantto go?” tomasa went with noel. she heard a woman shareher testimony of coming to christ and leaving her job as a stripper.

the girl came up to me, and she said god toldher to come to me and talk to me. and that’s when i knew this was god. i just remembercrying and saying this is time. i need to give my life to god. i need to stop doingwhat i’m doing. that’s the day that i got saved. after that i couldn’t go backto dancing. since being saved i never went back to anything. god healed me overnight. noel also accepted christ as his savior duringthe seminar. just one month later, he proposed to tomasa. today they are married and servinggod together. i always felt like i was alone. i always feltlonely; and now being saved, god said, “you were never alone. i was always right there.”god wants to be the one to fill our cup. he

wants to be the one that we cry out to. youknow, i cried out to god and said, “help me, i can’t do it anymore. i need a wayout. show me.” and he did. and i’m glad he did it when he did it. she’s right. god does want to be the one.the bible says that you and i were created in the image and the likeness of god himself.we were created to have relationship with him, an intimate relationship with him. youknow what happens until we find that? we're defined by everybody and everything that weturn to in place of him. and yet he waits. god waits. what defines you in your life?if it’s anything other than jesus, then you haven't figured out what you're reallycreated for. and you won't know that kind

of peace and satisfaction that tomasa hasfound. she talked about being lonely, always feeling like she was there by herself. whenwe're in that place, we make a lot of wrong choices. and we allow other people and otherthings to color our lives, to define who we are, to determine the direction that our livestake. here is the great thing about god: he is waiting. he is always there, never leavesus. he’s waiting for us to turn, to turn away from the choices that we make, and toturn into the loving arms of a savior who gave everything so that we could be definedby him and in him. you know, jesus' last prayer was for you and for me, asking the fatherthat we'd be one. he already knew that the father was in him, but he was saying, “iwant to be one with those you've given me.”

some of you have known about god. you grewup in the church. you grew up with parents or grandparents who told you about the loveof god, but you've made some poor choices along the way. many of us have done that.but we serve the god of a second chance. and so today i want to invite you to find outwhat you were created for. i want to invite you to come back to the father heart of god,to the one who saw you before the earth was formed, who chose you and said, “this ismy child.” don't miss out on that. you can have it today. it is as simple as asking forit, but it means surrendering. it means you're not going to live your way anymore. it meanssaying, “god, i want to know what you created me for. i want to know you. i want an intimaterelationship with you.” ask god today to

come into the midst of your confusion, youraloneness, whatever your need might be. just pray with me right now. “god, i want toknow you the same way that tomasa knows you. i want the freedom of knowing that all ofmy choices, all of the foolishness and the mistakes have been forgiven by you, not becausei deserve to be forgiven, but because you are merciful, god. please forgive me. jesus,be the savior of my soul. i am a sinner. i’m asking you to be the lord of my life as well.fill me with your holy spirit. teach me your ways, how to live for you, how to serve you,how to hear your voice when you speak to me. god, i want to be defined by you. thank youfor waiting for me. today i’m coming home to your heart, and i’m asking you to fillmy heart, invade my life, and make my life

count for your kingdom. in jesus' name, ipray. amen.” if you just prayed that prayer, we've got something wonderful we'd like toshare with you, and it's free. it will help you grow in your relationshipwith the lord. it’s called “a new day,” and you can get it by calling that toll-freenumber: 1-800-759-0700. gordon. well, still ahead, a little girl loses herhome and all of her belongings. girl: when i’m out here, it makes me feelsad, because it's just, like, gone. see how this girl and her family find a brandnew home when we come back. here at cbn, we see incredible things happenwhen we stand together. that’s why we want to thank the thousandsof who recently pledged to join the 700 club.

it's only stuff. the kids are here. for the time being, this single dad and hisfour kids are staying in a very small apartment. this is where we sleep. so this is where all of you guys are staying? there can only be two people on the top ofthe bed, so i had to sleep down at the bottom. yes. it's a little bit crowded, but it works. with sisters kimber, kyler, and kelsey inone room, nathan kind of has a room by himself off the living room. nathan powell: kind of a temporary bedroom,if you will.

bradley has it worst of all. this is where i stay at. wow, this is where i you're staying? yes. this is where i currently sleep. geez. brad, man, this isn't even the sizeof a walk-in closet. i bet you're looking forward to having your own room, some day. yes. someday, hopefully soon. yes. that would be nice.

after the tornado, nathan got a really gooddeal on a damaged house he wants to rebuild. but he’s got to be careful. even with theheart and lung problems, he’s put in a lot of work at the house. i've worked every day, every hour that wasavailable with every volunteer that's been at that house until the last week. operation blessing’s jodie gettys told nathanand the kids to give them a week to do what they could to help them out. teams from operationblessing and home depot have been out at the house ever since. they found out nathan andbrad are really into fish tanks, so they're making dad a special project.

fish is just something that we got into eversince my dad's heart surgery. i had a lot of blood pressure issues, andthey actually suggested to get fish and watch them, because it brings your blood pressuredown. it’s a little something we can do, and we enjoy that. the volunteers started with opening up thefloor plan to give this family of five space to spread out. the house needs a lot of workboth inside and out, from replacing 30 windows to wiring, flooring, landscaping, and masonry.they even have to replace a bunch of stone that the tornado blew away, and the clockis ticking. so we came out with jodie to take a look at the progress on the house, and itis unbelievable at how much work there is

left to be done. people are working in everycorner of the house, and there are piles of tools and materials everywhere, but nothingis completely finished yet. the family is coming home tomorrow, and that means tonightis going to be crazy. the crew worked overnight by flashlight and headlight, but by morning, there was still a lot left to do. but all that hard work was about to pay off. justseeing the outside of the house, they knew a lot more had been accomplished than they’dever imagined. then they walked inside. oh, my god. dad, look at it. it was quite an overwhelming moment. i thinkit's kind of comparable to when these guys

were born. seriously. it was kind of a momentlike that. with all the volunteer labor and a ton ofdonated or discounted supplies and furnishings, their house was completely renovated. kelseyand kyler made a beeline to their new room. it is awesome! everything is just perfect in the bedrooms.and now we get to have sleepovers a lot with our friends. now, when i walk in my room,i feel like a celebrity. it's awesome in my room. dad, i think we can move in already. close by, big sister kimber has a room ofher own.

look at it, dad. you've even got a closet, honey. look at the closet. well, it was amazing to me, because it wasactually all of my favorite colors, blue, black and white, and it was fully furnished.and i actually have a closet and a dresser now. they worked their way back and went throughevery inch of the house. i can't wait to eat breakfast here. hey, dad, look.

oh, wow, look at that. i think that one's the best. that was awesome. yes, i was like, finally we got a big fishtank like we’ve always wanted. it was neat. it was just neat, because itwas one of our dreams for the house, and it just happened, and that's really, really cool. after spending a few months sleeping in acloset, bradley went down the hall and opened his door to his new bedroom. dad, look at my room.

bradley also checked out his closet and wasglad to see it wasn't a walk-in. i couldn’t sleep in there, so i was so happy.so now actually, i have my clothes in there instead of a bed. bradley's right across the hall from his dad,who finally might be able to get a little rest. and now he has an actually bedroom to hangout in and get some alone time from us. i don't know when it will sink in. it willprobably be years before i can actually sit back and go, “wow, look at what happened.”when i’m sitting here in this home, i think to myself how many people it took that wereall led by god to get to this point, because

that is really refreshing in this world. it'sso cool that god's still willing to teach us and show us that he provides. he provides. from homeless to hope, all of that made possiblebecause people like you cared enough to give. if you're a member of the 700 club, thankyou, because you're part of blessing that family. if you're not a member, now is thetime to join with us. all you have to do is pick up the phone. it's a toll-free number:1-800-759-0700. and just say, “yes, i want to join the 700 club.” how much is that?well, it’s just 20 dollars a month, 65 cents a day. when you call and join, we encourageyou to ask for pledge express. that's electronic monthly giving. there are no checks to write, nothing to mail in. we save so much on the

barry hoped he could beat it home. a bridgelay straight ahead. it just had started to sprinkle a little bit,and we were just kind of driving around home. and right before we get onto this bridge ithad started to really, really rain really hard, and we were like, “this isn’t good.barry shouldn’t be driving in this.” but at that point we were already onto the bridge.it’s just a two lane road. there’s no real spot to stop, and so my dad had pulledoff after the bridge, and we were kind of praying that barry didn’t get on the bridge. cynthia and her parents were praying and lookedback to see if he made it across the bridge. we turned back around the bridge and wentback and that’s when we saw a whole bunch

of cars stopped. and we knew. the force of the wind and rain and the wateron the road had sent barry head first into the concrete barrier. it was very bad. his helmet was cracked inthe front and all the way. the stuffing was coming out of it, and his ears were bleeding. paramedics rushed barry to the closest traumahospital where doctors gave him no chance of survival. he was really affected by the head trauma.he had two detached retinas, which meant that the nerves of his eyes had actually pulledaway from the globe, which takes a severe

injury. and in addition he had injuries toboth ears, which is an unusual situation. and he was suffering from hearing loss andwas not expected to survive. barry remained in a coma as doctors did acat scan to check for skull fractures. they found none, but barry was still unconscious. i was waiting in the waiting room and i calledmy sister-in-law and she just prayed with me. it was theâ best thing, what i neededat that moment. barry made it through the night, much to thedoctor’s amazement, but woke up the next day, and realized he was blind, and partiallydeaf. it was difficult at times, but i always knew, but he’s here. and i was just glad to have

him for another day. as barry became more alert, he spent a lotof time praying. i had this incredible sensation, though, ofthe holy spirit coming over me and telling me that everything was going to be okay, andthat god was with me and that he was now writing a new chapter in my life. i knew that his senses would be different, and i would be needing to take care of him for awhile. but god had given me a peace thatit was going to be okay. when barry was discharged from the hospitalhe had to learn how to walk and balance himself again. specialists performed multiple surgeriesto repair his retinas and his inner ears.

i was looking in, trying to look in the mirror, and i couldn’t see myself. and i can remember just being so frightened and feeling vulnerablethat i began shaking. in an instant my whole life had been almost taken away from me. andi had the most amount of fear and insecurity that was imaginable. barry wondered about his career as a worshipleader and a musician, and how he would support his family. i just cried out to god, and i said, “god,if you will give me enough hearing back so that i can just hear pitch, if i can justhear that and sing to you again, that would allow my heart to rejoice so much and that’sall i want.” and so god started to restore

that from that day forward. barry’s recovery was long and challenging.cynthia remembers crossing the first big milestone. i remember the first day that he actuallyheard the coffee pot. and it was just like some small little thing. but that meant alot. eventually, barry was able to see clearlyand can actually hear well enough with a hearing aid to return to the music career he loves.dr. green, his primary physician, will tell you barry blaze is a walking miracle. it really is miraculous the way he’s recoveredfrom the severe head trauma. in my mind, god is the one that gets the credit for what happened.

with limited hearing, barry penned a new collectionof songs for his code of ethics band. the most significant moment for me in thiswhole healing process was the ability again to start recording. so as god gave those thingsback to me, it was just huge for me. through the whole ordeal, barry has come torealize that no matter how difficult the struggle he faces, god is always there to strengthenhim. what all of this has taught me definitelyfaith and trust in knowing that god is there. and he’s with me and he’s going to takemy hand through the hardest times. and though i’m going to have a lot of fear sometimes,i will know he is with me. and i’m held tight in his victorious right hand.

god is all about taking the challenges thatface us in life and using them to teach us more about who he is, so that we can drawclose to him, so that we can know what an amazing god, what an amazing father he is.many of you are probably facing challenges of your own, and we want to encourage youtoday not just with barry and cynthia’s story, but also with some prayer reports thatwe’ve received from people. this is leana, who lives in modesto, california. she wasexperiencing numbness on one side of her face. she couldn’t even smile. after she had anultrasound and an mri, her doctor diagnosed her with a tumor on her cheek nerve and saidthat only surgery would relieve the numbness. leana was watching this program one day, andgordon, you spoke this word of knowledge.

you said, “there is someone with nerve damagein your right cheek. god is restoring that and bringing back your smile. begin to smileand realize god has healed you and touched you, in jesus' name.” well, leana said immediatelyshe felt the numbness leave her face. she was able to smile for the first time in months.she went to a neurosurgeon that same day, and tests showed that the tumor was completelygone. praise god. that's a miracle. it is a miracle. here’s another one from anaheim, california.denise had pain in both feet from a condition called plantar fasciitis, if i’m pronouncingthat right. as a hospital nursing assistant,

she was required to be on her feet continually.she often walked with a limp, due to the sharp pain, which she compared to walking on rocks.one day at work, she’s in the hospital, a patient insisted that she turn on the tv.well, denise was flipping through the channels. terry, you had a word of knowledge, “somethingcalled plantar fasciitis. god is healing that for you now.” well, denise stood up on herfeet. realizing she had no pain, she shouted out in the hospital, “i’ve been healed!”that can happen to you. that can happen to you. start understanding, god is no respecterof persons. he loves us all. he loves us all. and he always hearkens to the prayers of hischildren. and start understanding right now jesus is interceding for you. he is in thethrone room, and he is praying for you. and

he is saying, “lord, lord, answer. answer.”now, remember his high priest prayer, right at the end of the last supper, right beforehe crossed the brook kidron, and he was betrayed and he was beaten and he died on the cross.he prayed, “lord, let us be one, just as you and i are one.” so let's come into agreement, and let's be one. the bible says when two or more agree, touching anything, it shallbe done. so together, let's go to the throne of grace. let's join in with the prayers jesusis praying right now, and let's believe god for miracles. start understanding he cameto forgive, and he came to heal. and let's take him at his word. pray with us. “lord,we lift the needs of the audience to you right now. and together, we join together as one,and we come into agreement for people who

have pain in their bodies. and together wesay as one, and we say out loud, be healed and be made whole. and lord, we lay handsnow on that area of the body that needs healing, and we say be healed, in jesus' name, andbe every bit whole.” there is someone with a traumatic injury, and there is just—isee this picture of this huge bruise. the doctor is warning you about clots. and godis able to dissolve all of that away in jesus' name. and it is going to be restored. thepain is leaving you now. just rejoice in what he is doing for you now, in jesus' name. terry. there is someone else, you have recurringshingles, and it is so painful. god is touching you, and it’s not going to return again.it will just slowly disappear. you’ll not

even have scarring from it, which is unusual.someone else, you have a condition. i don’t know what it is, but your throat closes up.you have a hard time eating. you even have a hard time swallowing. just touch your throatright now and receive healing from the lord as he releases that for you. there is a woman. you’ve been diagnosedwith bone spurs in your right shoulder, and it’s causing fraying of the tendons andtremendous pain. god is taking those spurs away from you now. do what you couldn't dobefore. begin to move that right shoulder and realize you've been completely and totallyhealed. someone else, you have extreme acid reflux, and you’ve had it for a long time. god is

healing that. and someone else, you have avery damaged, like a pelvic girdle, and god is healing that for you. there is someone with a skin condition. andit’s causing bubbles on the skin. they're filled with fluid. and god is healing that.he is taking that all away from you right now, in jesus' name. be healed. amen. if you'vebeen touched by god, we want to share in your good report. we always rejoice in what god is doing inthe world today. he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. so call us: 1-800-759-0700.we leave you with these words from psalms 103 .

. . . . “praise the lord who forgives allyour sins and heals all your diseases.”
